The inaugural Manchester Children’s Book Festival, hosted by the Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University, was the first event of its kind in the North West of England.
The 2010 festival attracted 3,000 visitors over four days and featured some of the most successful published children’s authors, illustrators, and a host of favourite fictional characters.
Following on from the success of the 2010 event, we have expanded the festival to eleven days for 2012, making it even bigger and better. Working in partnership with cultural organisations across the city, we have developed an ambitious package of festival events, projects and activities for Manchester, the North West, and UK-wide and international audiences.
Working in partnership with cultural organisations, educational establishments and business partners, we have a range of exciting opportunities for local and national businesses to invest in the festival, promoting external brands and raising corporate profiles to the wide audience of this major literary event.
With packages ranging from £1,000 to £10,000, opportunities for sponsoring the festival events and activities are grouped into three main strands – Public Events, Schools’ Programmes and Professional Development Days. Get details about all the packages available.
